As ever we have been busy reviewing products and improving the website. So far we are really pleased with products like Packet8 Broadband Phone. It is certainly one of our best sellers this year and why wouldn't it be? I mean seriously, $19.95 per month for unlimited local and long distance calling in Michigan is a bargain.

Work is carried out on the site on a daily basis now and our thanks go to the support team at Uni-hosting.com for working with us on different improvements. Let me take this opportunity to wish you all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

We have been really busy lately adding different products. In the past few days we have had to drop the PNG Power3000 long distance item as PNG no longer wishes to offer this any more. It seems it was mainly due to a lack of demand.

Our forum continues to be busy with several new posts and the addition of our partner web hosting company Uni-hosting is proving to be excellent value for our customers looking for Michigan web hosting.

As ever should you have any questions just contact a member of our customer support team.

Hi again! It has been a while since we updated our blog, we have been so busy! Hot news for our customers is SBC and the price hikes they have ready for business and residential customers.

Below we have included a snippet from Miact (Michigan Alliance for Competitive Telecommunications) which reads as follows

Without notice to the public, SBC on Sept. 1 filed six different rate-hikes that will negatively impact business customers in every area of their telecommunications needs, including broadband service, services provided by other companies through resale operations and short-haul long distance rates to its own customers. SBC’s biggest rate hike was a $5.00 per month increase on its local service package, CustomBizSaver.

“Without the threat of competition, SBC is doing what any deregulated monopoly would do – significantly raise rates on its customers. The Michigan Alliance for Competitive Telecommunications and consumer groups across the country have long warned that this day would come if federal and state policymakers prematurely abdicated their responsibility to oversee the nation’s telecom infrastructure built on the backs of ratepayers. That day has arrived,” said Greg Boyd, executive director of MiACT, a coalition of business and residential customer organizations and local phone competitors.

The FCC has announced plans to raise wholesale rates by at least 15 percent above whatever state rate is in effect on December 31, 2004. Because that higher wholesale rate will make it impossible for SBC’s competitors to offer their customers any real savings, many competitors have already exited the residential market, which, in turn, reduced competitive market pressure and empowered SBC to raise retail phone rates. SBC competitors that remain in the residential market will be forced to raise retail rates for their own business and residential customers.

We believe this is bad news for people living in Michigan and urge you to visit http://www.miact.org to find out more.

So, for our customers which represent basically all of our business we seriously urge you to consider our Broadband phone service as one future option.

To find out more about our Michigan Broadband phone service simply visit http://www.mich-tel.com/bphone.html

You can be sure Michtelco the leader in Michigan phone service and Michigan long distance will be working hard to ensure Michigan residents continue to enjoy some of the best phone rates in America.
